(In case you didn't know, I am auditioning for entrance to the Music Education program at ASU.)

Pinstripessaw a cloudy day in the center of a spiderweb steel and stone soaked in sootPinstripes
from the river we floated
clear minds in the wake of a drunken wave out of jersey in the late afternoon
aboard a clipper bound for the house that Ruth built we swayed with the Hudson
watched from the first base line the boys in blue, boasting perfect pinstripes they moved like water across the only green for miles
a crowded collective
bursting blues and grays and the city shrieked with life
and the sox at fenway could eat their hearts o

Disconnectionwas aDisconnection
stain behind brittle bicuspids a lie pushed through gaps between broken membranes
didn't want to be the reason for you to
lie through your teeth, but -
being a breath through the sides of your lips, it must be better than nothing
sat on
an asphalt border between the walls of a concrete box
and a steel one waited for a face that never shows
you might have scoffed at the salted division, a supple transition in the space between equinox and solstice, and twice I left little more than a scratch on your surface coul

A ThoughtA white flurry and Bells -A Thought
Flourishing winter wasteland
swallows whole any notion (or delusion) of grandeur A sleigh ridden straight to hell, you and I in tandem Together we are one and yet every man and woman I meet wants only to ruin you Turn you upside down, battered and beaten, and like a plague, swallow you whole And I pray
for forgiveness or death
An idea -
As I slide between the elevator doors parted like an artery I am greeted by
the scent of dental equipment, or
perhaps it is just fluoride The echoes between earbuds, sou

SpiderA spindly silhouette had caught Flies to turn to lessons taught In the quiet of a classroom wrought From dripping webwork, all for naughtSpider
Legwork linking summer leaves that Flutter softly in the breeze, and Fell to earth, and you to knees In cobweb stutters lining reeds
Shudders through the morning dew A stationary fountain grew And slight of hand had left it skewed For her to render it anew
Danced between the playground steel And waited for a fly by feel For tremors twitched beneath her heel Another soul, another meal

Because Love is Beautiful.I.Because Love is Beautiful.
If the line of your lover's shoulder is poetry, then Do not be surprised to find that when he shrugs off The painful things, vowels fall down into your waiting Hands. Please, don't be afraid, only know that your teeth Are consonants enough to keep the words intact. Rewrite them with ink from your own pupils, dot Them with the earrings you never wear because He loves to kiss your ears too much and then Whisper them in tongues into the cove of his ears, And breathe them onto his bellybutton and then let them trickle

Every Day the Same DogEvery day, the same dog walks the same stretch of sidewalk, where he stains the same hydrant with the same canine waste. The dog is gangly and wobbly and fierce in the most comical of ways, with an underbite and a sparse patch of hairs that line his back when he whines and snarls. After he finishes his mandatory purge, he charges headlong down the sidewalk, threatening to slam into the same mighty oaks that have always, and always will, line this street.Every Day the Same Dog
Every morning of every week in every month, the dog attempts to charge the same homeowner, two houses down from the urine-soaked beacon, the ugly pride of the neighborhood's per
